RME and pine oil diesel
Measurements and evaluations
A pre-study was conducted in spring 2010 to determine the possibilities for streamlining the existing distribution structure. A process was initiated by the participating shipping companies to cooperate and coordinate freight distribution in the cities.
Conventional diesel-powered vehicles to be replaced with vehicles using methane diesel technology and DME. (20 heavy local distribution vehicles running on vehicle gas, 3-5 heavy local distribution vehicles with DME (dimethyl ether)
Conventional diesel-powered vehicles to be replaced with with vehicles using hybrid technology
(5 heavy local distribution vehicles with hybrid technology)
Conventional diesel is replaced with RME (rapeseed methyl ester) and pine oil diesel in heavy vehicles in city distribution. Another filling station for RME established concurrently.
Results calculated, technology evaluated and data compiled continuously during the course of the project. Final compilations and calculations will be made during the second half of 2012.
Schedule
Through 2012, vehicles operating in central Göteborg will be replaced with more climate-efficient vehicles, and another RME filling station will be established. ACP Evolution Diesel has been being distributed at Preem stations in Göteborg and in southern Sweden since summer 2010. A program for the development and testing of freight coordination solutions is running continuously throughout the course of the project.

Interim targets through 2012:
>> 20 heavy local distribution vehicles running on vehicle gas
>> 3-5 heavy local distribution vehicles with DME (dimethyl ether)
>> 5 heavy local distribution vehicles with hybrid technology
>> Full-scale refueling of ACP Evolution Diesel or RME in all heavy vehicles
>> A commercially sustainable solution for increased consolidated shipping of incoming freight to central Göteborg
